Variance

The Variance around a balance Element is calculated from the uncertainties of input and output flows of the balance point.

Where:

n = number of measurements

Qi = input measurement

Qo = output measurement

Eit = percent overall uncertainty on input measurements

Eot = percent overall uncertainty on output measurements

Ei = percent relative tolerance on input measurement

Eo =percent relative tolerance on output measurement

Eu = percent overall uncertainty on the balance point (percent variance)
